Answer readiness is about extractable evidence

A page can rank, look polished, and still be awkward to quote. Answer engines need a passage that makes sense when lifted out of the page: a direct answer, a useful list, a comparison table, a dated claim, or a sourced explanation.

This score checks twelve visible and machine-readable signals on one URL. It looks at the opening answer, heading structure, question-shaped sections, lists, tables, structured data, dates, outside sources, depth, and sentence length. The score is a triage tool. The failed checks tell you what to edit.

Fix the page in reading order

Begin with the first substantial paragraph. If a reader has to cross three paragraphs of scene-setting before learning the answer, a model has the same problem. State the answer, boundary, or recommendation first; explain the reasoning immediately after.

Then inspect the outline. One H1 should name the subject. H2s should divide the real sub-questions a buyer has, not say Overview, Benefits, and Conclusion. Lists are useful for steps or criteria. Tables are useful when the reader is comparing the same attributes across options. Do not add either just to satisfy a checker.

  1. Rewrite the opening so it can stand alone when quoted.
  2. Turn vague section labels into the questions the section actually answers.
  3. Add a visible updated date when freshness changes the value of the advice.
  4. Cite the original source for factual claims instead of linking to another summary.
  5. Add structured data only when it matches content a person can see on the page.

A lower score can still be the honest page

Not every page needs FAQ schema, a table, or six hundred words. A contact page should stay short. A pricing page may answer through plan cards rather than an essay. Use the score on pages that are meant to explain, compare, teach, or answer a buying question.

The aim is not twelve green checks. It is a page whose useful parts are easy to find, verify, and reuse without stripping away the context that makes them true.

Check access and the rest of your AI footprint

A page can score well here and still be unreachable. Run the AI crawler checker to see whether robots.txt lets the major AI crawlers read it.

The llms.txt generator builds an llms.txt file for your site. To see whether ChatGPT names your brand when people ask buying questions, run the AI visibility audit.

Common questions

A self-contained answer, descriptive headings, clear lists or tables where appropriate, visible dates, credible sources, and structured data that matches the page all make extraction easier.

No. Use FAQ schema only when the page contains a genuine visible FAQ. Adding markup for questions the reader cannot see is not a substitute for useful content.

No. It means nothing on the page is stopping you. Being cited also depends on whether the engines quote pages like yours in your category at all, which is a different measurement and the reason this score is a starting point rather than a verdict.
